Spatial data is valuable because location, date, coordinate reference, source capture and review status remain connected. An integration should preserve those relationships instead of copying an image or spreadsheet into another system without provenance.
The enterprise discovery process identifies system owners, data classifications, approved transfer methods, identity controls, required update frequency, retention and the authoritative system for each record. Only then should endpoints, exports or automated hand-offs be selected.
