Geotechnical investigation

Ground risk resolved before it becomes design risk.

Geotechnical investigation project operations and engineering evidence
GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATION / SURVEYCOPTER
THE DECISION

Field investigation, sample recovery, laboratory testing and reporting coordinated as one defensible evidence chain.

Subsurface conditions cannot be inferred reliably from surface appearance. SurveyCopter coordinates boreholes, in-situ testing, rock core, groundwater observations and laboratory programmes around the structural and geotechnical decision.

Locations, depths, sampling, logs and test results are controlled in a common investigation register. The resulting report distinguishes measured evidence from interpretation and states limitations.

06

Report

Issue traceable records, findings, limitations and recommendations.

05 / PROJECT EVIDENCE

Rail and hyperscale data-centre investigations

PROBLEM

Multiple locations required reliable subsurface evidence under varied access and ground conditions.

RESPONSE

Boreholes, SPT, sampling, core logging, groundwater observation and laboratory tests were executed under one field programme.

OUTCOME

Investigations reached depths up to 40 m across four railway locations and a major data-centre programme.

Practical answers.

How are borehole locations selected?

Locations and depths follow the proposed structures, available geological information, site access and the design questions to be resolved.

What does SPT measure?

The Standard Penetration Test records resistance during sampler penetration and supports assessment of soil conditions when interpreted with logs and laboratory data.

Can geotechnical work be combined with a topographic survey?

Yes. Coordinating terrain, site control and borehole locations improves design integration and reporting.
